Apple silicon. It’s still the best chip on the market. Laptop is silent and lasts a lot on the battery. If Macs still had Intel I wouldn’t even consider a MacBook
soon about to change with snapdragon...
Is that the one that isn’t in production yet and was in articles about how it was “faster than Apple Silicon” but they were comparing it to a base M1 from 2020?
Maybe, but how many windows arm apps will there be?
It will take a while. Apple managed really well to make the transition. I doubt it will be the same with snapdragon though. Would be amazing though to have some competition finally for the Apple silicon.
I have to say after the hype with the Mac silicon I wanted to give it a try myself. The only thing I regret is the high price and being unable to replace/upgrade my ram or ssd.
But the worst thing I find is that when it will die it can’t use a macOS from external drive to boot. So basically when it dies it’s gone. 😓
Would Apple replace the SSD if it reached End of life, at a reasonable fee?
I doubt they would do a ssd replacement as it is motherboard soldered as well. It’s a tough one unfortunately. If there’s apple care is easy to get probably a new motherboard I would guess.
Let’s see what others are saying.
