Biggest issue for any "smart" tv is long term support and crap apps.

I have 3 smart TVs , 2 of them no longer get apps nor updates.

I have appleTVs on all my TVs, just works.

I've been saying this for years. Get a lower cost replaceable device not a £1000 TV which will be EOL in a few years.

Trouble is, most (all?) TVs are smart. I just don't bother with their rubbish built in software and use AppleTV.
