And this highlight video was posted Summer 2020.
Given he was born in June 2000, and the College season would have been the preceding winter, he was fucking 19 in this video.
And people think this guy can't throw deep (let alone improve his arm strength)…
Given how ugly his deep balls have been so far with the Bears, I think the questions are fair. But I also think people are blowing it way out of proportion. Hopefully he can make a couple of decent longer throws in an NFL game and we can put this whole thing to rest.
The DJ Moore throw, he was getting an OL pushed back into his face. He may not have been contacted, but he couldn't step into his throw one bit.
I don't know how legit his deep arm is either, but I'm certainly not gonna anoint him "Noodle Joe" without seeing more than a game-and-a-half, with a conservative gameplan.
Hell, even most of the media room laughed at him when he said "I've got a cannon."
I really hope he can prove the doubters wrong.
I think this week he's going to have a longer leash than previous games. I'm sure we'll see a few deep shots and I'd put money on the very first pass he throws being a deep shot laser.
