How can I stop the background color to change based on the top shelf app? (alien.top)

This is really annoying… since the 17.1 update, the homescreen background changes to the color of whatever app is first (music app/bright red). It used to be a dark color that never changed. Now imagine in my dark room a bright red background. It’s really annoying. Any way to have a static color background?
