It's why you can't compare a fielder's throwing velocity to a pitcher's. Throwing with a hop/run/putting your body into it makes a TREMENDOUS difference

Check out here at around 1:03 and again at 1:58. He throws a couple of balls of around 50 air yards, no running start, not a lot of arc. They're not huge, but they're legit deep passes.

I think the questions about his arm are perfectly reasonable until he shows it at the NFL level, but I think the narrative is being a little overblown.

Throwing on the run is harder than throwing with a crow hop. And the ball would’ve traveled 50 if not caught
