It works still fine with Apple TV+ and iTunes Library. That mean if you have a big Film and Series library on iTunes and /or use Apple TV + AND still have a HD TV, then the 3rd Gen is sufficient.
What the 3rd Gen is used for in my Company is as an AirPlay device, so everyone with a Mac can show their display. With the A1427 the one who wants to show has to be in the same network as the Apple TV. But there was a Rev. A A1469. This has a function (optional) that devices can connect directly to the Apple TV.
Even better, need not ATV+ or iTunes. Any video I can convert to MP4, I can AirPlay directly from my M1 Mac mini to the ATV I have a HDTV connected to (that idc as long as I can get AirPlay via QuickTime Player to consistently connect to the ATV). Thanks again!
