Ok but Bowling Alone has a decent thesis. He's arguing that the decline in social outlets, like bowling clubs, will lead to the decay of liberal democracies. He totally misses the role of capitalism though. So like, 4/10.
Also he's way too fucking optimistic about the Internet, and it's very funny to look back on. It's a big reason why the subtitle has "revival of American community" tagged on it.
