i can confirm star wars: squadrons its pretty good. the power management systems add to the experience imo. the first person views are great.
i tried Chorvs (spelled like ancient roman latin for some reason) and didn't like it mostly becasue of its lack of a first person/cockpit/interior view.
i think i tried rebel galaxy outlaw and thought it was weird that it did not have any kind of vertical movement, flying was all on a 2d plane, unless i'm confusing it for another game.
i would recommend project: nimbus as well, its like ace combat but you have a mech, its focused on fast paced, exclusively aerial combat which is unique for non-transforming-mech games. it even has a cockpit view! its on ps4 and PC, but DO NOT get nimbus:infinity, its a sequel but has less playable mechs, less missions, and no upgrades or extra game modes or anything. and it has obnoxious visual novel segments between gameplay.
I haven't played the first one, Rebel Galaxy, but I think that might be what you're confusing it for. All I know is that it ends up being more focused on fleet management or something later on.
Outlaw is a Freelancer inspired game where you start out on a revenge mission but can do whatever - buy/sell cargo, get paid to move cargo, hunt pirates, be a pirate, etc.
good to know, i loved freelancer
