Israel trying to pass the hospital bombing off as Palestine doing it is utterly disgusting and guarantees Netanyahu a spot in the deepest pit of Hell for all eternity, obviously, but do not forget that
a) the only reason why Westerners will believe it is because they want to believe it - they are not being brainwashed and this is not some masterful propaganda being weaved around us to turn kind-hearted people into monsters,
b) no Westerner opinions matter at all. In most Western countries there is no real anti-Israel option to vote for even if they did realize that Israel was a giant factory for crimes against humanity, and Westerners protesting against things in general almost never achieves anything (tens of millions protested for BLM in 2020 and not only did the situation not change, it got worse), and
c) the people whose opinions do matter (both the people in the region, and the leaders who aren't already Zionist compradors) already know that Israel is full of shit and that they just murdered nearly a thousand civilians in a single bomb attack.
It is despair-inducing to think that the genocidal Zionist entity is so brazenly, so smugly getting away with bullshitting this away into a cloud of confusion, as they release their metaphorical squid ink just like they did with the stupid babies story, but the propaganda and the media narrative that they are creating isn't what matters. It cannot address the fundamental contradictions ripping the country, the region, and the world apart any more than masterfully-applied makeup can fix a stab wound. It can merely obfuscate.

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

Why has nobody ever tried to apply this to military purposes? If you can dig 170meters of 3.4meter wide tunnel per day you can go 6km in 35days.
That shit is capable of bypassing things like the russian trench line and minefield defence network Ukraine has been struggling with.
Just saying, these militaries have absolutely no imagination.
id imagine its super easily detectable, things like counter battery equipment are already seismographic (eg russias penicillin) and operating a giant borer is probably even more obvious than long ranged artillery
How accurate can seismic activity be measured? Run a bunch of them in different places and you'd create so much measurement noise that it becomes useless no?
If they can't do anything about it until it surfaces it still represents a very real threat you'd have to perform troop movements for. What if it surfaces today? Tomorrow? Where will it surface? We'd have to have standby units to perform emergency defensive perimeters. This all has impact on the defensive lines, because that's where you're taking units from for it. A few engineering teams can provoke a massive troop movement because they have to assume a full size attack could come through these tunnels.
If the enemy's queen can teleport behind you on the chessboard you have to dedicate some serious resources to defending against that eventuality that would ruin your defensive front lines.
Even back in ww1 they had to be really careful about limiting noise when tunneling otherwise the other side could detect it and conduct counter-tunneling operations. A big tunnel boring machine would throw up big "bury explosives in front of me" flags
They don't surface of their own accord. If you're drilling below ground level, you have to drill a vertical well/shaft first, lower it piece by piece, then assemble it on site. Then do the reverse at the other end. The exit shaft is usually planned and placed in advance.
Vietnamese sappers were famously deadly and impossible to deal with. The tet offensive and many other quick raids used tunneling and sabotage
This is what I'm getting at. The idea you can track it seems unrealistic, consider if there were 40 locations going on offensive all at once and they're all doing multiple tunnels. How the fuck are you tracking that with any accuracy? You're just not. The idea of maintaining defensive lines against that kind of push is nonsense, it would be complete and utter chaos.
Let's say you do know they are digging tunnels in a vague area for an offensive. What are you gonna do about it? "We know they're gonna come up somewhere in this 500 sq meter urban area." great now what? Surround the whole area? The resources for that are a significant pull away from the defensive lines, which they might attack instead.
My point here is that once you defeat the idea of this line warfare it automatically MUST become maneuver warfare again because these solid defensive lines are impossible to maintain.
From what I understand the drill head needs to be tailored to the ground conditions (rock, soil, clay, moisture content) and require serious engineering to stop the tunnels from breaching water sources or building up with slag and the likes, so that limits the flexibility of where they can be used. But, within those limitations I guess you're right.
