Despite a barrage of hefty bonuses, loosened and more progressive enlistment requirements, and even the creation of innovative pre-boot camp programs, the U.S. military mostly fell short in efforts to bring more Americans into the services over the past year -- and it's unclear how or when that will change.
To your first question, I really know this. Recruiters don't sign any paperwork saying ope ur in the military now, the recruiters job is primarily to get you through the door. People still have to go through processing and while some things are waiverable not everything is. Being too fat, having mental illness or many physical ailments or having a criminal record keeps you out. Also, weed is more legal and many people do not want to give up weed.
The second part, no clearly not. I think my point of posting is that Hexbear falls into a myopic line of thinking on certain topics, to their detriment. I like to think I'm vindicated too as you immediately jumped to "yummy boot" rhetoric despite what i wrote previously. Like I actually think that, it was very rude of you too considering I've been posting here for a long time.
The recruitment shortfalls are like i said before. evil empire can't keep growing and expect to fill all boots. and also the empire has inherent contradictions such as poor nutrition, poor education and lack of social cohesion.
I also believe that there are many, maybe more than you'd think, stupid and also poor Americans who try to join but cannot join because the reasons listed earlier. They fall for the propaganda too, but it's more convenient for internet lefties to think that poor americans naturally lean more leftist... as if they're not also Americans. I think reality is much more grim than the American populace waking up to socialist ideas.
Either way, good news for anyone who doesn't love imperialism.
