I remember post 9/11 someone publishing a similar photo, someone eating an American flag at a protest. You have to respect someone furious doing something objectively silly. Like throwing a shoe. Wish we could come up with something like that.
Throwing a shoe is just a great move in the situation, completely logical imo, and from what I've heard supposedly extra insulting in some cultures. If you are referring to the Bush shoe-throwing incident. Eating a flag just seems bad for your body and gives a weird impression as a symbolic act in my view.
Yeah it's strange and unexpected and probably carcinogenic, but the message is unmistakable. And I'm kinda jealous tbh.
