In terms of 90s pop culture environmentalism FF7 easily takes the cake since much of the early game revolves around blowing up pipelines as part of a militant organization that never even gets the both sides treatment (IIRC)

If FF7 was made today in the West Tifa would become the new progressive girlboss of Shinra in the end
