No, it isn't? Look, if you only get to the store every other month it's probably safe to say you're living so far away from everything that it's just far easier to have fucking chicken instead of buying shitloads of eggs at fucking costco... It's not like they're complicated animals.

Exhibit A: me, a singular person, yet still included in everyone, who has no interest in taking care of chickens
Exhibit B: a not-insignificant portion of this island’s population, who are sick of the invasive feral rooster and chicken population, and the accompanying noise, to the point that people are hired to remove them from neighborhoods and many would be happy to never see or hear a live chicken again.
