This person also famously wrote "Stop! Hibari-kun!" in the 80s, a manga about a trans girl who falls for a boy. Hibari was written as a cross-dressing character but the trans experience is hard to miss. I may be a cissy but this has me wondering: is Hisachi Eguchi trans?

I'm a cis dude, but sometimes I wish I was a girl, because they are so pretty and I want to be pretty too.

The idea of wearing a cute hairstyle, makeup and clothes is appealing to me, but only if I had a small, feminine build instead of the manly one I got.

It's strange because I feel and identify as a man, but sometimes wish I was a girl.

His sentence "the frustration of not being born a girl" give the impression he might be trans yeah. But my knowledge about gender identity is very lacking currently so I don't know. Maybe he's just like me and sometimes wished he was different.

Just so you're aware, things like "I wouldn't be good enough" or "it'd never work for me" are like textbook trans repression because they're such easy and invasive little brainworms that so effectively shut down reflection and soul searching. For me at least, killing that brainworm opened a floodgate that shattered all the rest, and now ten years on from that and seven or so years on HRT I'm ok and don't particularly care that I can't live up to an impossible ideal.

Of course it's not hard evidence by any means, gender identity is too complicated and individual to determine from just one thing like that, but that is a very common bit of repression.

Sounds relatable; I would've liked to be born a girl but feel like transitioning wouldn't give the same results

It depends on what you want to get out of being a woman.

As a couple of examples, if you're most interested in the permitted clothing styles, or living in the social role, you could have a good time transitioning.

The real question is are you just interested in a feminine gender expression while being a man or is it something more, because you don't have to be trans to enjoy any inherent femininity you might want to express.
