Along these lines, I feel like until pretty recently, the go-to way that filmmakers would show that a character is a paranoid weirdo type is to have a video intercom on their front door. Now it seems every other house has at least a doorbell camera. Which is worse in a lot of ways since they are controlled by a company who will give up footage without a warrant...
I guess it will invert in the future and the paranoid weirdos will be the ones without all the cameras
They also sell the footage and data to marketing companies lol
