Abbott elementary and grand crew are the only good recent sitcoms I can recall

[–] GeorgeZBush@hexbear.net 14 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Throw in Arrested Development and I agree 100%

[–] UmbraVivi@hexbear.net 15 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Arrested Development is the only sitcom I've watched in its entirety more than once (meaning all 3 seasons, shame they never made more)

[–] GeorgeZBush@hexbear.net 10 points 2 years ago

Yeah same honestly. It's so bingeable. I'm glad they ended where they did though. I feel like if they had made a fourth or even, God forbid, fifth season, it wouldn't have been the same.

It's a shame more people didn't see Better Off Ted. Only got 2 seasons and it's one of my favorites

[–] corgiwithalaptop@hexbear.net 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I remember that show being good, but also haven't watched it in ten years. Have you seen it more recently? Does it hold up?

[–] sammer510@hexbear.net 2 points 2 years ago

More recently than that for sure. I'm no media critic but i find it pretty funny. Portia de Rossi is great. Some of the episodes were really great like the one where the company's new motion detecting lights and doors can't see black people or the one where they replace everyone's office chairs with abrasive fabric to increase productivity. Also the little advertisements bits https://youtu.be/yF3of5VRcNA?si=9leGuCmbIZq64rfY

30 rock is legitimately the most hateful show I've ever watched.

[–] wwiehtnioj@hexbear.net 3 points 2 years ago

As a liberal I enjoyed it when it was contemporary (libs hadn't recuperated Bush yet).

Now that I am the one true leftist watching anything by Tina Fey is agony-shivering
