I was doing a little searching and found something about "The Dominion Wars" which is supposedly mentioned at some point in Deep Space Nine. I only watched a little bit of DS9, but I do remember that wormhole that I think went to the Gamma quadrant. I should really watch all of DS9.

Yes, yes you should.

It's slow, and it can take time to get into, but I think the viewer relationship with the characters is all the stronger for that. The similarities to Bab5 are more than skin deep.

I had a friend once who called it "the intellectual's Star Trek." I had a hard time liking it at first, but it might now be my favorite series after TOS.
