I beg of you to realize that unconditionally voting for someone who is less right wing means they can and will take your vote for granted and thereby never give you anything.
They've been running this "vote against the Republican" bullshit for around a half century and it's what got us here.
Instead of trying to convince us to vote for candidates who suck, you should go try to convince them to suck less. Then they could earn our votes. So simple!
