It seems their idea of future proofing in this case is increasing trains from running once an hour to once every 40 minutes. Jokes aside, they have built second platforms at some stations and they duplicated the Avon River bridge a while back too. Now all they need is for the trains to stop being late and missing their scheduled path, and it'll be a somewhat okay service
