... isn't Ukraine making these claims because Russia has been deporting trainloads of Ukrainian to Siberia and replacing them with Russian citizens? We saw this on Crimea in particular when all the residents were so desperate to leave last year.

This case as a whole was brought to bear a few days after February 24th (the start of the “non-proxy war”) and thus the overall claims would not be in regards to them but just originally about the justification.

But the argument being talked about in the post that Ukraine is using is that even if they were committing a genocide that Russias war would still be invalid and Russia should pull out of the country.

Like these arguments really don’t relate to that situation…
