I worked retail with a manager that had one hell of a temper and no fuse - he'd be screaming at me at least once a day, terrifying the customers - but we were good once he'd vented, and otherwise got along great.

Upside was that I knew he had my back, and he wasn't shy about turning that fury on problem customers to the point of nearly throwing fists.

I miss that dude - as much as people will think Stockholm syndrome or similar, I'd much rather work with him than the parade of smiling sociopaths I've encountered since.
