Wouldn't that be a Lightning to USB C adapter? That naming doesn't make sense.
The usb-c is at the top in the picture so I'll have to disagree with you

No, the USB-C port becomes a Lightning port.
The way I think about adapters is that you have a Lightning cable and attach the adapter so it turns into an USB-C cable. I guess you can also think about adapting the port. Wild.
