i love these giant starships within the atmosphere evidencing how large they are

used as the cover of a.e. van vogt's "the secret galactics" and justin leiber's "beyond humanity"; as well as various others

Cool pic, and i kinda share the feeling, but it makes me wonder if it was soo big wouldn't it have its own gravitational field that would mess with the earths. Other than that definitely awe inspiring.

that's a good point actually, i'd never considered that...

although i'd guess not – the earth is very big – but it might influence water & tides a bit
