MODERATORS

Leonard Peltier, born on this day in 1944, is an indigenous rights activist of Lakota descent who has been imprisoned by the U.S. since 1977, convicted of first-degree murder following the killing of two FBI agents.

After being extradited from Canada through a false witness statement, Peltier was convicted in a controversial 1977 trial and sentenced to two consecutive terms of life imprisonment for the murder of two Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents in a shooting on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.

As detailed by "In the Spirit of Crazy Horse", Peltier's trials and conviction are considered highly controversial, and groups such as Amnesty International have raised concerns about their fairness.

On January 18th, 2017, the Office of the Pardon Attorney announced that President Barack Obama had denied Peltier's application for clemency.

"You must understand...I am ordinary. Painfully ordinary. This isn't modesty. This is fact. Maybe you're ordinary, too. If so, I honor your ordinariness, your humanness, your spirituality. I hope you will honor mine. That ordinariness is our bond, you and I. We are ordinary. We are human. The Creator made us this way. Imperfect. Inadequate. Ordinary."

so close to the pkmn scarlet/violet dlc release date sweat

perfect time to commit a little heresy (you can burn me at the stake for this)

I only recognize gen 1 red/green

Gotta play gen 1 and 2, the games are held together by ducttape it's great

There's a TM somewhere you can use to train a Ratata how to use Watergun. At least in Yellow. I think you can do it in Blue and Red too.

You're missing out on US/UM. If you liked the original Sun and Moon, these ones have so much more going for them. The story is slightly different too.

The story is slightly different too.

I might try them, but I heard they ruined lusamine and by extension the characterization of the aether foundation family (one of the best parts of sun/moon imo)

[–] Magician@hexbear.net 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Fair point. They did pivot on her characterization, but the extra content, mechanics, and general improvements won me over. I can get why such a shift in Lusamine's characterization would be enough of a dealbreaker though.

[–] Teekeeus@hexbear.net 6 points 2 years ago

Yeah, Lusamine (SM version) was my favorite pkmn villain up till

Gen IX spoilerArven's shitty dead parent

[–] buckykat@hexbear.net 7 points 2 years ago

my faves are in unplayed

[–] thelastaxolotl@hexbear.net 7 points 2 years ago (2 children)

i heard ultra sun and moon are actually the hardest mainline games ever made if you want to play it

[–] Teekeeus@hexbear.net 5 points 2 years ago

I'll play it eventually, but I heard the story changes were less than ideal

Hmm, I might need to give US/UM another try then. I could never get through the insanely slow opening and all the forced dialogue, but I've always wanted to give it another go after the Scarlet/Violet DLC

Mons don't attack human beings unless we're in the ancient past. Even then, it's surprisingly difficult for a human to black out under mon attack (based on legends arceus)

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Pokémon ranking I disagree with as much as this. Are you fucking insane?

Scarlet and Violet, the most broken games I’ve ever played, where NPCs animated like they were in Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 and textures popped in 2ft in front of you, at S tier while Legends Arceus is F tier is unhinged.

[–] Teekeeus@hexbear.net 2 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

Are you fucking insane?

This is my unironic opinion based on my feelings/experiences/fun (or complete lack thereof, in the case of legends arceus) that I've had with the games. I don't think my opinion, or yours, should be worth any more or less than others, we are free to disagree with each other. shrug-outta-hecks

Sorry, that sounded much more hostile than it needed to, was more baffled than anything
