Rest In Power, Michael Brooks.
This episode really opened my eyes to my own hatred and liberalism. I see a lot of similar hate for older people on this site and it’s anti- communist.
Older people hold almost all the power and wealth. Theory is out dated in this subject. We are being led by the dead
A lot of these politicians offices are governed by their staffers and donors, the legislator is not really required much intellectual labor as counterparts in the executive or judiciary; the administrative state requries intellectual capacity but decision making is not really determined by individuals but by the larger community of the political and ruling class. e.g: Finestein likely has very few lucid hours of the day but her staff which intercepts her communications and relations with the public, colleagues in the Senate, and donor base are the ones running her office more than Finestein is.
Adam & Nima are right about age being a distraction and disillusioning effect in selling neoliberal policies. Macron or Tuss/Johnson are both young politicians and are proponents of austerity and neoliberalism solidifies that it not the rule of the elderly that is the problem but the rule of capital.
That Democrats or Republicans are incapable of reproducing their expertise in governance is indicative of the times we live in rather than consequence of the elderly not giving up power or passing on their wealth.
And of course elderly people who are wealthy are such by virtue of time & accumulation and the times they purchased properties that skyrocketed in price over the years. The people of their generation that are not wealthy are also vast in number, and even then it is usually the wealthy who survive into old age because the US commits social murder in regards to providing access to healthcare. Working people usually accumulate health problems from physical stress, poor diet, and lack of exercise from lack of free time.
Blaming the elderly for the troubles of the present just seems like reactionary r/lostgeneration garbage rather than the analysis that class plays more of a contributing factor than does age in regards to age, especially when the wealthy among living older generations are still disproportionately skewed to a tiny few.
Who do you blame for the troubles of now other than the people that got us here?
You just saw it in 2020. Elderly came out in mass and upended historical voting patterns to elect the most brain dead non commie on the stage. Who was dead last. Dead fucking last
I think alot of you guys have spent very little time with the elderly. I've worked in retirement homes. Age unfortunately makes you dumb, stubborn, and aggressive. You also just reset everyday. They are still the largest voting block and the richest age group. They wield huge amounts of power and influence over the future and are the sole reason for the present.
The whole argument about their staffers is not of importance. The staffers are just buttering their bread and know how to. The problem on a political spectrum is the amount of brain dead elderly running and being voting in by their peers.
