Did they play Persona 4 and pick the wrong suspect at the end? That game is not sympathetic to their ideology lmao.
Eh, in this particular instance, I don't blame them for taking "be your true self, but the gay should remain in his closet in social settings (and isn't even gay cuz he likes tomboys). And girls should mostly accept their lot in life, and you there, be a bit more feminine!" as an endorsement of formaldehydism.
