Interesting that most of the non-porn DVDs have Traditional Chinese on them, so presumably from Hong Kong/Taiwan--local Chinatown, perhaps? Wonder if she bought both kinds of movies in a single trip.
Googled about half a dozen different titles and they were all still available to legally stream, which surprised the hell out of me since porn is pretty much disposable media and we're talking 15+ year old films. Puts Hollywood to shame as far as media preservation with public access goes!
There's an uncensored Japanese DVD published by a California-based company but clearly for the Japanese market, since all the packaging is in Japanese save for the legal boilerplate--a pretty transparent way to skirt Japanese censorship laws. It's trivial now for companies to do this with online distribution, but I wonder how difficult it was to get these things back into Japan. I'd love to read a tell-all--bet there were some interesting hijinks.
