All the piracy subs I can find are dead, quiet, or too niche. I'd love to be part of an effort to bring reliable and maintained information about how to safely pirate to lemmy. It's actually one of the most frustrating things about switching from reddit. Are we puritanical here or something? If we had active piracy scenes I pretty much wouldn't have to be on reddit at all anymore.

dbzero is defederated from or by lemmy.world?

lemmyworld defederates the dbzero piracy community. only that community though i think

Considering you posted on lemmy.world and the reply came from dbzero, it's likely banned by lemmyworld. It's your instance choosing not to federate with dbzero, but dbzero users can still see and engage with world posts.

The instance? No, a db0 user being able to reply herem proves the opposite. The instance is not fully blocked by lemmy.world. This is the only example that comes to mind of specific community defederation vs. instance as a whole.

World only defederated from the piracy communities, not the whole instance.
