This is why a very minimum requirement for an actual democracy includes recall voting.
Dude just straight up decided to betray his constituents and nothing can be done to remove him.
Luigi time!
Reminder not to joke about encouraging people to do incredibly cool and sexy crimes, the FBI are not required to show context when they're showing your and other peoples posts to a judge for getting a warrent.
God did his part
And if you want to stay under the radar, you can just type Looweegee
I came here to mention this. Glad I'm not alone. I do not understand why we can't recall or impeach Congress members by vote.
Because then the people might recall them and put in politicians who do what they want. And that's bad for the people who don't want what the people want; the capitalist class whom finances their campaigns.
Democracy bad.
Bourgeois democracy is designed to defend the interests of the bourgeoisie over other classes. This isn't a flaw inherent to democracy, this is a flaw inherent to capitalism.
I agree with this, which probably explains the nuance lacking in the previous statement.
Are you going to replace them with the republican candidate?
Why does everything have to be so unequivocal or binary? He's not who they voted for now. Should they have to endure it?
Easy solution is the ousted candidate's party gets to choose a temporary replacement, but a new election must be held at the very next election to find a permanent replacement be they Democrat or Republican (whomever the people elect). Easy peasy.
elected under false pretenses
Was he? Or did brain damage turn him republican? Because it seems like there is something mentally wrong with most republicans.
Studies showed that people who trended conservative tended to have more active parts of the brain for emotions, especially fear. They're older and finding anything older than 2 months on the internet is like archeology.
I don't know, man. I'm a Democrat because I support policies like marijuana legalization and free healthcare. The conflict in Iran is pretty low on my agenda. I wouldn't feel particularly betrayed if he was my elected official.
I never understood bipartisanship. My opinions and beliefs span the entire political spectrum. It feels like people think that anything supported by Republicans must be anti-Democrat.
It's costing US taxpayers an insane amount of money every day and driving up the cost of almost everything, you can't just not care about it, even if you overlook all the needless death.
Damn, a self aware person plainly stating their own selfishness. Don't see that every day.
Bizarre.
It's akin to saying "I understand slavery is bad, I just don't care. Mr Jeeves is a pretty good slave."
