I'm saddened by the fact that I understand what this is about.
I'm not American. I have no reason to know the context of this. I should not know about this idiocy. My attention has been hijacked. Every time I learn about something as stupid as this, I feel like I'm wasting precious resources. There are more important things closer to me that I should be worrying about.
How I wish I could block out all this and enjoy a nice surf on the web without having my awareness polluted.
It's so depressing. I mean, it can be nice to see there's a place where stupid people have stupid problems, to give my problems some perspective, but it's impossible now to open the web without non-stop American stupidity confrontation. It's nice to go to a theme park, it's hell to live there. I wish there was an American-free platform. Even Lemmy, which is mostly hosted in Europe, is completely taken over by Murica slop. No wonder those Americans are so self centered, when the entire world has to live in their drama.
We don't like it either. I've been trying to drag my neighbors into normalcy for ten fucking years.

I can't. I'm too poor, my gender is illegal to put on an American passport, and Canada/Mexico aren't interested in taking asylees or refugees.
Besides, if everyone leaves, no one will be here to fight back.

That's true, there need to be people fighting back. But there is a difference in fighting back and being prosecuted for who you are. Being able to fight is a luxury. Know there are programs to help expats in European countries. To find a job, housing, hobbies, meet people, get life started, even tax cuts to make it more attractive. Your gender isn't illegal to put on a Dutch passport, for example.

There is a uBlock filter for you, and one for Chrome-based browsers.

There should be an anti-Trump/anti-USian one there. Sorry, my phone was misbehaving, it wouldn't let me peruse further. But it has a lot of other very useful embed blockers there too.
I mean, the diaper thing has been joked about for nearly 10 years at this point.
