"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

The problem is, any robot that can do the laundry can also operate a gun.

So.. maybe we don't give them guns?

Smh the same people talking about 'equality' suddenly don't want Mr Beep Boop taking an AK-47 to the nearby school. It's one or the other, sweetie.

Do you really think you'll be making the choice whether or not they have guns?

The problem is that someone somewhere will give them guns and to deter those bad actors you're going to want a fleet of killbots yourself.

There's always an asshole thinking of how to use tech to kill someone.

Too late, then the robots with guns win. We need to follow suit.

Yeah, but what if they give them guns?

[–] leoj@piefed.social 1 points 4 days ago

we... shoot them with... our guns?

[–] MajinBlayze@lemmy.world 9 points 4 days ago

Your position is that the reason we don't have chore robots is that they could shoot someone?

Is that really a problem though...?
