I wonder if Bernie gets tired of being on the right side of every issue all the time.
At least, I must imagine he gets tired of the country not fucking listening to him.
I think it animates him, and he will continue to sanepost well into his 120s in the craziest falling empire in history. I imagine widespread ideological acceptance would break whatever phylactery keeps him going.
We have to give Bernie the rest he deserves
We have to make America better
Bernie's the kind of cool dude who would continue to hope for more though, even if we did manage to fix all the awfulness with America — he would just see that progress as a good foundation to continue building more good stuff, in a "the work is never done" kind of way.
But certainly, that kind of work would be a hell of a lot more restful than what he's having to do now.
His perseverance over the decades has truly been phenomenal.
Bernie is the most unamerican politician out there
Applying a modicum of common sense unfortunately seems to be a rare skill these days.
