Nah, in Idiocracy, being smart is seen as evil. You get beaten up for reading books.
What we have is pseudointelligence. People who aren't smart pretending like they are. That is why we have anti-vaxxers, flat-earthers, climate change-deniers, alpha males, healing crystals, ... All of them think they are smart and have hidden knowledge everyone else is lacking.
