If that's how the clock is broken, sure. If it's gaining five minutes a day, then it's never right and it's still broken
Every 288 days the clock gaining 5 minutes a day will be right again for a moment.
The idiom refers to a clock who's hands don't move at all, I hadn't thought about how it would apply to a running but inaccurate clock.
A clock that either gains or looses time will actually have its moment of correctness more often the more time it gains or loses.
This train of thought didn't help my insomnia, but it was interesting, thanks, lol.
