Once a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump, conservative political commentator Tucker Carlson has fully turned against him over the war in Iran, going as far as to liken Trump to the Antichrist on his eponymous podcast.

“Could there be a spiritual component to this?” Carlson said on The Tucker Carlson Show on Monday. “Is it just a conventional escalation ladder in a badly thought out war … [or] could it be something bigger? Is it possible what you’re watching is a very stealthy yet incredibly effective attack on what, from a Christian perspective, is the true faith: belief in Jesus?”

Carlson went on: “Is it possible that the president sees this in bigger terms? Sees this as the fulfillment of something? An elevation of some higher office beyond president of the United States?”

It's a sad day when Cucker Tarlson is right.

Look, people are multifaceted. You can still be a pile of shit AND dislike Trump. Hitler thought dogs were great. It doesn't mean you agree with anything else going on.

Hitler thought dogs were great

So its true, Kristi Noem is worst than Hitler.

Hitler used his dog to test cyanide capsules, so its a tie.

[–] cabbage@piefed.social 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

To be fair he also gave cyanide capsules to his wife and kids, so I guess that's just how he showed affection.

[–] Arcadeep@lemmy.world 2 points 21 hours ago

I wish someone would give me cyanide capsules. So romantic 😍

Not until she fully commits and follows through on the greatest thing Hitler ever did.

Hitler didn't claim "bone spurs" to avoid serving his country during a shooting war.

Technically, he did claim illness to try to get out of serving his country (the Austro-Hungarian empire) and he did fail his physical. Later, when WWI broke out, he was allowed to volunteer for the Bavarian army (not his country at the time) and did see combat.

I'm getting the feeling that he's looking to be a presidential candidate in 2028 and considering how well he can tap into the zeitgeist of the American people, this being an excellent example, he might easily end up being the next POTUS. Because who is going to oppose him? Shit my pants Trump (assuming he even lives that long)? JD Vance with his absolute zero charisma? Spineless Newsom? Tucker can only be beaten by someone like Zohran Mamdani and the establishment dems fucking hate people like him.

It's not just a sad day, it's going to be a sad future.

[–] Omgpwnies@lemmy.world 2 points 20 hours ago

and he'll pick alex jones as a running mate

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Remember, you're not agreeing with Cucker, he's agreeing with you.

[–] cabbage@piefed.social 5 points 1 day ago

Also he is a raging lunatic who actually speculates whether trump is the literal Antichrist in a biblical sense.

That's a positive development on his end, but still pretty batshit.

I listened to his entire 45 minute rant, and I find it extremely disturbing that I couldn’t disagree with a single thing he said.

This guy is fucking nuts. But man, he was right on the money with this one.

[–] Barbarian@sh.itjust.works 37 points 1 day ago

He's not nuts and he's never been nuts. He's a grifter who's always been very capable of saying what his audience wants to hear. This is what Tucker thinks the Republican base wants to hear, not anything to do with truth, lies, sanity or insanity.

[–] DarkCloud@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah, I don't get why "progressive" media is helping his podcast gain views.

[–] 4am@lemmy.zip 11 points 1 day ago

They’re too busy lying about Hasan Piker to notice they’re making friends with Tucker Carlson

Typical rats fleeing a sinking ship. I blame at least 60% of conservative brain rot on this hateful piece of shit. His words and actions enabled the raw stupidity, hate, and evil you see today.

I don't hope many people drown in marmalade, but I sure hope this fucker does it over and over.

That poor marmalade

"We are not a theocracy, and God willing, we never will be" is a fascinating statement.

It's a call for a secular state from a religious perspective, and I think I actually like it a lot.

A broken clock is right twice a day.

A broken clock can be trusted to glow an orange-yellow color when the house is on fire.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If that's how the clock is broken, sure. If it's gaining five minutes a day, then it's never right and it's still broken

[–] jmill@lemmy.zip 8 points 1 day ago

Every 288 days the clock gaining 5 minutes a day will be right again for a moment.

The idiom refers to a clock who's hands don't move at all, I hadn't thought about how it would apply to a running but inaccurate clock.

A clock that either gains or looses time will actually have its moment of correctness more often the more time it gains or loses.

This train of thought didn't help my insomnia, but it was interesting, thanks, lol.

Heard this from an organizer, we didn't change our views to become theirs. Their views became ours
