Rule 2: Do not copy the entire article into your post. The key points in 1-2 paragraphs is allowed (even encouraged!), but large segments of articles posted in the body will result in the post being removed. If you have to stop and think "Is this fair use?", it probably isn't. Archive links, especially the ones created on link submission, are absolutely allowed but those that avoid paywalls are not.

Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

Republicans had a whole bunch of choices. They still have a lot of choices. They keep choosing to do the stupid and/or evil choice. I'll be laughing at them and what happens to Americans for years or decades.
I'm more concerned about the rest of the world having to deal with the consequences of moronic republican decisions.
This is the worst part of it. I didn't vote for that moronic child fucker. I can't even vote in that shithole because I don't live there. Yet, I'm getting fucked, and roughly, because of them.
But hey, 'don't go "all americans" because some of them didn't vote for him'. Well fuck you! You didn't vote for him, but what about us? Getting screwed by someone who's not even in our continent just because he fucked kids and don't want to go to jail for it?
Oh but don't you know Kamala Harris wasn't a good enough candidate so some Americans couldn't bring themselves to vote for her.

Absolutely. Anyone who was eligible to vote in the US that didn’t vote for Kamala Harris come the general election is part of the reason we have Trump. These are objective facts at this point.

You want progressives to have a chance of winning? Make the Republican Party lose so badly that they aren’t contenders ever again. Now you can start to differentiate within the Democrat party to get some true progressives.
Nah, it's worse. Every voter that didn't vote in those elections just said: "I'm ok with both candidates". They have decided that choosing Harris or PedoHitler was the same thing. Is not that she wasn't "good enough", it's that they said she was AS GOOD AS PEDOHITLER.
Some of them are still at it. A mere mention of choosing between lesser evil and they come in calling us 'genocide supporters'.
Yeah I'm getting a bit tired of the "I didn't vote for him" thing from Americans. I understand that they didn't but from the outside, I can't really start singling out people, so as a result I blame America as a whole. They should have fixed their system decades ago, but they didn't care enough.
I sympathize for all the anti-trump Americans... but they are doing as much as the Republicans are doing, to remove him. Which is fuck all. Going on a parade on a Saturday once in two months doesn't count as doing something, no matter how "historically large" it was.
I wasn’t even old enough to vote against him the first time he ran. I did my best to convince all my historically conservative Republican family to not vote for him, however the propaganda they consume is too strong to get to them. My mother has been watching Fox News chronically since 1997 when it first aired. By 2016, she’d been consuming that propaganda straight for damn near 20 years!!!
Yeah that sucks and all but its still up to you and your fellow citizens to fix this shit, since your political class wont do anything, except encourage the orange cunt.
The problem is the vast majority of Americans can’t monetarily afford to protest because of the style of capitalism here. It forces us to work or be homeless/healthcareless. Only thing that will force change is either a fair election (ain’t going to happen), some sort of coup, or country-wide strike (would be one I would like to participate in).
But I was told Americans are so much richer than us Europoors!
Jokes aside... Theres options. You guys could like organize and stuff. Pool some money to have a security net in case someone gets fired. Work together with employers. Do some logistics and realize not everyone needs to be out protesting every day. One group protests on monday, another group on a tuesday, etc.
Saying "we can't afford to protest" is just giving up. Nobody said it will be easy. And nobody is suggesting that the people who have 7 children to feed or a crippling medical problems, should be the ones protesting....
Protests are happening nearly daily, but they don't always make the news and frequently aren't covered extensively. It's not in the best interest of "news" organizations to focus on such things right now.
Even social media coverage of these things are localized and not prioritized on algorithms.
These things are happening. People are participating in the political process that is available to them where they can.
Could we do more? Certainly. The international criticism is valid and many Americans feel your frustration and share it. Just know that the current political atmosphere took decades to establish and much of that work involved, if not outright criminalizing protest, framing them in such a way that reduces their visibility and overall impact, specifically in regards to their voter base. There is no "national conversation" like there was when there were 5 major TV stations and some assumed or even enforced journalistic integrity (however naive that may have been at the time). Now we are in a splintered information landscape that gives people the sense that they are contributing by interacting within their bubbles with little to no actual influence or conversations happening between people who disagree that might be able to find common ground and pool their efforts. Instead, when those groups finally contact each other they are yelling slogans at each other, not coming together to work towards a solution and how to move forward.
Unfortunately our best path forward is the same slow grind that is the election cycle and finding ways to get through to those who don't want to believe they were mislead.
High gas prices are probably the most effective way to snap people out of those bubbles, if only for a moment.
The largest issue is us Americans are hyper individualistic and hate working together in the way you describe. Just ain’t going to happen here unless the culture changes.

If you mean the "people are actually starving" tipping point, sure, that hasn't arrived yet.
But the 21st century tipping point flew past ages ago.
Why don't you be a little more honest here? You can't write "I'll be laughing at what happens to Americans for a long time" and then also say you feel for us. You're victim blaming. We are entirely fucked and there are no good options. And honestly, no matter where you live you're going to have negative consequences from this too, no matter what. Even if it just slightly nudges your country to the right, or some other neighboring country, it will impact you.
So I'm glad you're laughing that so many millions of people are suffering. Thanks for that. It's so helpful to not only my mental health to read shit like this, it totally inspires me to just go out and fix it all. No problem. Be done by mid day tomorrow!
I'll be having multiple different feelings about all this. I'll be laughing at the stupidity, the inability to get together. I'll be sympathizing for the innocents who get eaten by the machine. I'll be despairing because its plunging the whole world into chaos. I'll also be laughing about the chaos because I'm a miserable misanthrope asshole.
I guess at least you know it, but that doesn't materially improve anything for the people who have to endure you.
