It helped massively, better concentration while taking it and I sleep better when taking it regularly. No apparent side effects like other meds that I tried.

The only thing that is a pain with it is the ridiculously tedious drugs restrictions and going out of stock causing me to be without it for a week or so once or twice a year.

Do you run into any mood changes? I was on a non-stim for a while and haven’t medicated at all since because I hated how moody it made me.

Not with methylphenidate. It has been long enough that I forgot which ones, but I think Vyvanse was one of the ones that really fucked with my moods, making me completely numb. Might have been another one that was newer at the time, but it was like watching a movie about the things I was doing while completely bored.

People definitely react differently to different meds.

That is an insanely astute description of the feeling. It would make me really indifferent to everything and I was noticeably short with people. It was wild how obvious it was to myself too, and not one of those scenarios where someone else has to finally tell you.

I wasn't even short with people because I just didn't care. Flat affect, indifferent to everything, just going through the motions with that one I tried.

For me, methylphenidate makes me more engaged in everything. Not manic or overly emotional, just makes my brain slow down to a speed that lets me consider things which also lets me finish things I start as long as there is time before it wears off. If not, I put it on hold and successfully it up again the next day after the next dose. It also lets me decide to stop thinking about something that is on a loop in my head as long as it is still working!

Damn, that sounds like what I need. My thoughts are like a browser with 500 tabs open, with one playing music, and I can’t find it.
