He still does not understand Iran holds the cards

His lack of understanding may be the only thing that can start to de-escalate this war. Let him believe he won while the rest of the world can see he lost. Trump will never accept the reality and his pride will not let him admit a loss. It's better for all of us if his demented delusion lets him walk away believing he's a winner.

He does. He knows and it’s probably just what he wanted. Whatever happens it’s what he planned for

Look at the nonsense Kegseth is spewing out daily.

They bought into someone's(likely Bibi/Likud) propaganda that this was going to be a cakewalk. An easy show of force to humble everyone else into submission. Much like how their kidnapping in Venezeula sent shockwaves around the world.

This was definitely not their plan.

You are giving it too much credit. The pedomango is not that bright.

You do not need to be bright to claim that anything that happens is what you planned.

Thinking of things in terms of what's good for the country might not be informative of the motivations here.

Most of the terrible decisions are a net positive in regards to the personal enrichment of the administration's associates and power-players.

As long as they spin it as a positive to the gullible voting populace, it doesn't matter what the administration does.
