You're gonna have to topple the regime that you helped build Margie, or it isn't good enough.

Basically the equivalent of Moscow Mitch turning around and saying the Supreme Court is cow toeing to fascism.

Kowtow, and yeah, these malevolent fucks all need to burn in this reality instead of hoping for the next. The drive for power is so strong that any alignment will be feasible until it is wrenched away from them. Then "whatever it takes" is on the menu to maintain relevancy and attempt to clutch power right back.

Kowtow

Woah that's a Chinese phrase?? I assumed it was some leftover rancher jargon.

Yeah, it's wonderful the intermixing of our languages and cultures that has provided such range for communicating. I love that you had a word in your vernacular that you perhaps hadn't read yet, but knew it applied and brought it out in the conversation.

I had the opposite happen to me once where I read "ciao" so many times, but hadn't connected it with the right pronunciation.

This is actually a first for me. Like usually it's words I've read but didn't know how to pronounce. Barring generic spelling errors I've never known a word that was spelled so differently than I'd assumed.
