Paul McCartney’s official Reddit account seems to have been banned. The account, u/paulmccartney, had just dropped a set of photos and videos from the first night of his shows at the Fonda Theatre. It went straight into the r/PaulMcCartney subreddit. Then, not long after, the whole thing disappeared.

My three notable bans:

  1. Banned from politics for quoting the Constitution on treason punishment
  2. Banned from gym for arguing with a "pro" claiming there are no stupid exercises and bad form doesn't exist.
  3. Banned from child free for saying not every one that is child free hates children with the passion of a burning sun and wants them all to die.

Edit: I forgot to mention when time number 2 happened. I asked the mod "Why was I banned?" Then my entire account got a 3 month suspension for "Mod abuse" by the admins.

ooh the gym sub is quite awful, they act as if people losing their weight and getting jacked suddenly is not due to steroids and act as long "arduous battle" they do ban for mentioning PEDs too, bitch you people cheated your way to that body aka shortcut, instead of taking months-years to get that body. one post i came across, the guy was very overweight and suddenly hes lean and all buff from roids/peds and act as if he got that all on his own journey, i think it took less than a year for that. i can see 20 somethings getting a body similar to that if they already thin and workout all the time. but a 300+lb going to a muscular body in that time.

Heh, I was also banned for the same reason as you - quoting the exact text of the constitution to say what should happen to insurrectionists. My appeal was denied in seconds.

The time before that it was during the presidential debate live watch threads, and there was a portion of the broadcast where the camera dipped away from the speaker, so I wrote "kill the cameraman!", an obviously non-serious statement in reference to the subreddit /r/killthecameraman, and got banned for that. That was only a three week suspension I think. The mod who banned me also handled my appeal as well, promptly ignored.

When Epstein was sent to prison and was in protective custody, I suggested that he shouldn't have special treatment and belonged in genpop.

Banned for advocating violence against someone.

May that mod have a spasm and faceplant hard on a gravel road, then be forced to drink cold hot-dog water while listening to Baby Shark at high volume on an endless loop. And may all their teeth fall out but one, and in that, may they have a toothache.

[–] knotRyder@lemmy.ca 24 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I got banned for suggesting someone should drill a hole in the Charlie kirk statue

[–] BJ_and_the_bear@lemmy.world 23 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] Slashme@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That's somehow badly proportioned. Didn't he have a smaller face on that big head?

[–] Napster153@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago

He looks fused with the Orange Man and that's just cursed.

[–] maturelemontree@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Compared to the ones listed above you this one I can understand, although it is really funny.

[–] knotRyder@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago

It was just a suggestion.... geez

[–] spicehoarder@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What's funny about ruining a perfectly good drill bit?

[–] maturelemontree@lemmy.zip 6 points 1 day ago

By drilling a perfectly bad statue.

It's interesting you mention the Baby Shark thing. In Oklahoma there were some prison guards who forced multiple people at various times to stand handcuffed in a stress position for hours listening to Baby Shark for the purpose of torturing them. There was also other forms of physical abuse that happened.

The guards were arrested but were given 2 years of probation. But you as an average citizen get caught up in some war on drugs bullshit where you didn't even victimize anyone and your unlikely to get the same treatment in many cases, especially in some harsher states.

Former Oklahoma jail officers sued over 'Baby Shark' torture tactic are placed on probation

Christian Charles Miles and Gregory Cornell Butler Jr. pleaded no contest to misdemeanor cruelty to a prisoner

A federal civil rights lawsuit four inmates filed in 2021 accused Miles and Butler of using excessive force and discipline tactics described as "torture events."

Joseph Mitchell, said he was pulled from his cell in November 2019 and placed in a room where he was forced into a "standing stress position" for three to four hours while he was handcuffed behind his back, according to the lawsuit. Officers then played "Baby Shark" on repeat so loud "that it was reverberating down the hallways," it said.

Ja’Lee Foreman Jr., another inmate, said in the suit that he was not forced to listen to the song but was placed in a stress position and then kneed in the back and slammed into a wall by Miles. Foreman alleged that Miles spat on him as Butler laughed.

In addition to probation, Miles and Butler must complete 40 hours of community service, and they were fined $200 and ordered to pay $300 in victims’ compensation. They are also no longer allowed to work in law enforcement, the court records state.

Butler's attorney, Lance Phillips, said his client is "happy this matter is behind him." If Butler remains out of trouble while on probation, he will not have a misdemeanor conviction on his record, Phillips said Wednesday.

Prison guards are way too comfortable torturing people

[–] nutbutter@discuss.tchncs.de 3 points 1 day ago (2 children)

What do you mean bad form doesn't exist? Serious question.

[–] 13igTyme@piefed.social 5 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

He was saying there's no such thing as bad form for an exercise. I was posting video clips of people with bad form getting hurt as examples. He would then make up some stuff about it wasn't the form that caused them to get hurt.

[–] nutbutter@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 22 hours ago

Oh, sorry, I didn't read it correctly. I thought YOU were saying it.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 2 points 23 hours ago

It's a new idea being floated by the medical experts of the Sackler family.

[–] Doom@lemmy.world 1 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

My favorite will always be being banned from AITAH for being too mean?/honest?/using a curse word? I'm not sure they just said my language was inappropriate. I may have used the word asshole.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 6 hours ago

AItah/aita is mostly AI generated which is kind of wierd to ban for that.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I am permanently banned, for using the term "kick rocks and pound sand," which is just American for "there's nothing you can do." An excuse to get one more leftist off the platform.

[–] Angrydeuce@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I got permanently banned for insinuating Donald Trump was a pedophile. I appealed and they blew me off, no response. Tried to sign up for another account and got immediately IP banned for ban evasion.

Id been on the platform for 14 years and had over 1M comment karma. Somehow the last 14 years of my contributions to the site never caused anything, not even so much as a subreddit ban, but pointing out that Donald Trump is a sexual predator was a bridge too far for them.

I find it curious that Reddit Admins are trying to limit discussion of the factual statement that our current president is a documented child rapist. Guess the investors theyre courting are probably in the files, or at the very least, dont see nothin wrong with a little pedorasty.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 6 hours ago

reddit detects ban evasion quite eaisly now. unless you use a different device and IP address you will get banned on any new accounts. when before you can just lay low on a new account.

[–] SnarkoPolo@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Reddit is quietly pivoting to become a Conservative platform, with lots and lots of monetization.

[–] Angrydeuce@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I knew that the people running the show were scumbags, but i guess I never knew they were MAGA scumbags.

I should have made the switch after their API horseshit, but I guess a lesson learned late is better than not learning the lesson at all.

[–] HailSeitan@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They aren’t MAGA as much as they are capitalist, and MAGA is in power right now

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 3 points 23 hours ago

Spez is also into whatever ideology is popular among the tech rich of Silicon Valley at any given time. Right now that's technofascism

Banned from gym for arguing with a “pro” claiming there are no stupid exercises and bad form doesn’t exist.

But what was your stance on the number of days in a week?

[–] starman2112@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 day ago

I got permabanned from the whole site for calling Ann Coulter racist lmao

[–] whaleross@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

An old account got banned on multiple completely unrelated subreddits because I was having a discussion with someone that self identified as a "responsible pitbull owner" and I asked them as part of the pitbull community to talk to irresponsible pitbull owners and make them responsible instead of defending them. Turns out the "responsible pitbull owner" was one of those mod hoarders on their alt account and went full pitbull when somebody dared to disagree with them. I filed a complaint to admins for mod abuse and obviously nothing happened.

And my current account has had multiple temporary bans for making fun of nazis. I mean, sure, I can take a temp ban for "inciting violence" when I remind the kids that every day is punch a nazi day. But these fragile little snowflakes can't even take some basic banter and the mods fold immediately when the nazis start weeping. It's funny and sad, isn't it.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 6 hours ago

he must a POWER mod, someone that is a mod only multiple accounts. plus subreddits can cross ban people too.

[–] Ttangko@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

I still havent gotten a response from the site owners why I got completely removed (ip-ban)

Last thing was me arguing with a mod about the reason I got sub banned: me simply commenting "source:[tabloid's name]" under a news post that was baiting incitement. they claimed I was derailing when the whole post was literally just the blog post of that bad faith tabloid in a rather "serious" sub /de XD

its a joke of a platform that carefully fosters a gullible army of bootlickers it seems, at least to me being left on read like that

[–] fatalicus@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Just got my first ever warning the other day.

Was a comment about voting on using gallows or guillotines to solve some problems in the US.

Wasn't even advocating it, just offering it as a suggestion to those living there.

[–] mirshafie@europe.pub 3 points 1 day ago

A modest proposal if I ever heard one!

And kind of violence, serious or not, seem to result in bans from the comments I read on Lemmy.
