Afaik, most ED is caused by being out of shape. The penis is basically a blood balloon, and your heart has to work hard to keep it inflated. If you aren't doing any sort of cardio, you can fall below that threshold. Luckily, that means with some cardio, most of the time it can be reversed

There are mental effects at play, too. Men can get too anxious or, as I find more probable in anon's case, too used to getting a lot of different visual stimulation

Not even just visual stimuli. It can be visual, sound, a vagina not gripping as hard as his hand, the fact that he always uses the exact same coconut scented nivea lotion vs finding out what actual girl sweat smells like, or even the proprioceptive difference between getting off leaning back in a computer chair supported semi-fowlers position vs actually prone on top of a partner–there are many more sensory inputs at play than one might think.

I'm interpreting your name as relevant

And I think we can safely assume that anon isn't living the healthiest lifestyle

I mean, that much masturbation should probably count as cardio ...

Also, men should do kegel exercises too.

It helps increase erection strength and even size due to increased blood flow, can help with premature ejaculation, and can improve prostate health.

Someone has already said that it's the muscle you use to stop peeing midstream, but I wanted to add a few other points:

  • Once you've identified the muscle, you shouldn't do kegels while peeing, because this can lead to UTIs and an unhappy bladder

  • When you do kegels, you should try to only engage your pelvic floor muscles; try to avoid engaging other muscles in your thighs, buttocks or abdomen. Isolating your pelvic floor muscles can be tricky at first, but it gets easier

  • As well as improving aspects of sexual function, kegels also help with incontinence. If you practice them now, you'll be thankful for it as you age

Thank you for this wonderful advice. I shall attempt to practice it.

You know how you stop peeing mid pee? That's how. Clench. Hold it for a count of 10. Release and repeat. Do it in the morning and evening to start.

Also worth noting that lack of regular erection can cause shrinkage. Since the tissue can lose part of its elasticity.

It's normally not a problem at all even if you literally never masturbate, due to erections that occur during sleep.

“If you don’t use it, you lose it” was true?!??

No. That's not true. But it can shrink if you never get erections. But I wouldn't exactly call getting an erection during sleep "using it"
