I got banned from a bunch of Reddit subs for once telling someone they were wrong about the Yorkshire accent in the UK. They called me a liar about being British and then I got banned from like 30 places at once.
I got a "permanent suspension" from all of Reddit. Isn't a suspension temporary, wouldn't a permanent suspension just be a ban?
Maybe it’s the difference between undoable or not undoable.
If you think about it, when a judge gives you a “suspended sentence” for a crime, it is permanently suspended meaning there is no set expiry. But it can be made to expire if needed.
That tracks. You pissed off someone who had a connection with a mod and/or admin. Been there!
I got banned once for dunking on IG travel trends and the mod involved was dumb enough to PM me threatening me.
It's just pathetic how emotional and over reactive people saying crap on the internet they don't like. I don't agree with a lot of stuff but I see no reason to censor people for enjoying musicals or whatever else I hate.
I once got banned in a bunch of subs, including some I wasn't even in, because a mod didn't like a comment I made in a sub that wasn't even theirs. They just didn't like it, so they banned me in all the subs they modded. Fucking weirdos.

Considering all mods are probably mirrors of antiwork mod the entire world got to see - zero surprises there.
You see, I never had a single comment moderated by the anti-work people, and I made a lot, a lot of them very extreme comments. Like illegally so. But many other subs I have had that same problem. I used to use revveddit to see which Subs were secretly silencing me, which included pics, and so many others. Mostly Auto mod bullshit I presume. Auto mod which I trust is corrupted by the government for Israel and a number of other issues.
Referring more to physical looks and lifestyle of the head mod there.
I think it's the direct mention of the user that the c/technology mods didn't like, which I can understand. You might be better off removing it from your comment.
Plenty of .ml related moderators on other groups as well that will ban users on lemmy as well because of .ml bs.

Yes that happens, for some reason that user actively goes to FuckAI and bans people who posted there. I can only assume that they see disdain for AI as a personal slight.

It’s pretty straightforward, they’ve been targeted and doxxed and harassed by anti ai trolls on Lemmy. You probably downvoted some posts in their comms, contributing to this and got banned.

I don't have a vendetta. I'm entirely ignorant of the context you're describing. I got blanket banned from a series of communities by aforementioned user for (presumably) downvoting. I'm not really very interested in continuing this.
Listen bro, you could have avoided this. You should have known that anytime you comment or vote on lemmy you could trigger a sensitive mod's paranoia and be banned for that.
If you want to participate in Lemmy, you're going to need to learn to read the room, figure out the single opinion that is being allowed, and stick to it.
It's better than Reddit here bro, just make sure that you don't stick out and you won't be hammered down.

Two wrongs don't make a right
I got a sitewide warning a couple of months ago for suggesting that Trump's inaugural "board of peace" meeting was the apotheosis of the "you have one bullet..." thought experiment. "After reviewing, we found that you broke Rule 1 because you threatened violence or physical harm." I'll wager Trump's secret service guys were absolutely shitting themselves when they read it, so it's probably for the best they took it down tbf.
On the bright side, it was the kick up the backside that was needed to get me to try Lemmy, and I hardly use Reddit at all now.

I realized I was a bit off base. Seems like you took it to heart.
People really ought to read who they are replying to.
I got banned from about 15 subreddits I never even knew existed once by calling out a transphobic dogwhistle, and when I inquired about the bans, the mods insinuated I was a child molester and neo-nazi.
Reddit mods don't need to follow any sort of logic.
And confidently asserting someone is a dick because they got banned from a subreddit is hilarious, and should probably prompt some self-reflection.
There sure are cases of injust behavior by power tripping mods. That being said just presuming guilt and malice is unfair to the volunteers taking care of reddit today.
But its okay to presume guilt and malice of the person commenting here?

The appropriate way to take care of Reddit is to shut it down, sell all its assets and donate the proceeds to blind dogs, imprison every paid member of staff, put their families into foster homes (if any of them aren't incels), bulldoze their dwellings, salt their fields, and systematically delete anything online that they ever uploaded.
Then dunk the shareholders' heads one by one in a bucket of horse piss, duration of dunking in proportion to the number of shares held.
I know it's milder than they deserve, but you gotta start somewhere.
