I'm attempting to find a consensual way to request food from humans, or to refrain from requesting food from humans.

Going by the other comment from user Notyou, I take it you're looking for a food bank or other food donation center. If you're in the USA, you should really check this site...

You can also simply text your ZIP code to their number 1-800-548-6479, and within around 10 seconds or less their automated service will text you back with food donation centers in your area.

There's also findhelp.org, which seems similar. I've looked into resource directories, and tried out many places, and typically it takes more energy going to & using these places than the food given. Doing routes through garbages has been more reliable, convenient, & nourishing, despite the obvious uncleanliness.
