I'd say you'll like it if you enjoy Minecraft in general. That said, the game is currently in alpha and is still lacking in a lot of areas - and there aren't any big automation/industrial mods yet compared to MC. If you're looking for a more polished Minecraft with better combat and creative tools though, this is it.

A Create like automation system in hytale would be absolutely insane

How about multiplayer?

My big issue with modded MC is that it doesn’t feel “social.” Servers are just too small, sparse, and performance bottlenecked.

Either way I will be keeping an eye on Hytale, I suppose. I don’t necessarily want something as fleshed out as MC (as I quite enjoyed it in Beta), but I will probably wait until the more “techy” mods start popping up.

Really? MC has huge servers and communities - it's one of the most popular games of all time. There are definitely a lot of huge social servers in MC you might like.

Hytale has a much smaller playerbase (at least so far), so you're not likely to find that many big servers.

Only vanilla client ones. Packs with client-side mods (like major tech mods) tend to be either “tiny server” feeling, or commercial/scummy.

I’ve been on exactly one modded server, many years ago (1.6.4/1.7.10 era) that felt intimate yet “big.” I’d get tons of foot traffic from new player by my base, and set up a workshop to help them. I’d chat with the server without feeling too intimate like a group of the same dozen people.

Never found anything similar since.

Oh, yeah, the modding community is way too fractured for there to be bigger tech servers, especially when modpacks just run really poorly on servers. Hytale is actually avoiding this by having all mods be server-side, meaning you can easily just join modded servers without having to juggle different clients. It's one of the best things about the game.

Oh, that’s awesome! That’s always been an huge limitation for MC.

And look at this: https://www.curseforge.com/hytale/mods/conveyor-belts

All that is server side? Okay, I’m definitely interested now.
