And the 65 year olds that watch local news shake their fists in rage.

Not just old people watch local news. Every gym in my area has local news on the tv.

Just because most of Lemmy is afraid to leave their house or look people in the eye, doesn't mean all young people are like that. Lots of young people like to know what's going on their area. Most def get it from their phones, but I see plenty of people looking up at the tv while they are on the treadmill or stairmaster.

I'm at the gym every day, so I see it every day.

From the comments I have seen on here lately, I'm beginning to think that a very large part of US Lemmy posters are angry incels that never leave their apartments. (Not saying you are that way, but your comment made me think about it.)

It's funny to me how on Lemmy no statement can be ridiculous enough on its own. Someone will always reply "That's not true and doesn't align with my personal experiences!"

“That’s not true and doesn’t align with my personal experiences!”

But isn't that the origin of almost every comment on Lemmy? It's based on someone's personal experience or opinion.

Did you really read my comment and not immediately understand that it wasn't intended to stand up to strict literal scrutiny.

What could I have said that would have tipped you off that it was intended to be exaggeration?

Why is me pointing out that young people reading the news as reply to your comment, suddenly some sort of proof that I was holding you up to strict literal scrutiny?

Why are you reading so much into my comment?

It's a forum, on a social site. You replied. I replied. That's it. It's not really any deeper than that. lol
