You don't need to have prime to buy stuff on Amazon.
This is what I was trying to avoid. You missed the "one for one" part. You are correct that you do not need Amazon Prime device stuff off of Amazon. Amazon Prime is what I'm asking about where you can order stuff from the same website and get free delivery within 2 days on average.
If you order from Amazon without Amazon Prime not only does Amazon still make money but they make more money off you. Your solution is counterproductive.
Depends how much shit you're ordering from Amazon. Which, if the amount you're saving on shipping is more than the cost of a Prime subscription, you're probably buying way too much shit from Amazon.
(Did you know that there are local stores where you can go and buy stuff and get it immediately, without having to wait for any delivery at all? And they don't even charge for that!)
I order maybe four times a year. I'm not buying shit. I'm buying essentials that would cost more in a retail store and require two gallons of gasoline per round trip. Cows outnumber people on my block. I'm not buying things I don't need. My "walk in and buy stuff" options are a Walmart. And not much more. I'm not looking for condescending people who didn't understand the assignment. I'm looking for what I asked.
Then paying for prime probably isn't saving you money. It would be cheaper to just pay the shipping costs 4 times a year.
Thank you for being the expert on my situation that I'm obviously unqualified to be. Since you have all my data please make sure you file my taxes on time. I don't want a repeat of last year where a stranger who claimed to know all my stuff failed to get it filed by the deadline.

Inconvenienced? I don't think you understand the situation. My income last year was less than $20k. Things happen or they don't. There is no inconvenience level. That's for people with options. It's not "it would be inconvenient for me to drive 60 miles and pay more for something I want". It's "I have exhausted all local resources to find this necessity for free. Now that I have to pay I need to do it at the absolute lowest price that will actually fix the issue."
I'm literally over here carving my own wooden spoons to replace my 20 years old ones that are dying and you are implying I'm impulse shopping for non essentials.

I'm not opposed to more than one site but the firm benefit of Amazon is free shipping without an order minimum and then having everything. Sometimes I need pet meds and I have to use all kinds of obscure sites for that stuff become Amazon doesn't have it or it requires a prescription that isn't in the budget.
I think what happened here is that I asked for an Amazon alternative and because no one could think of one they decided to make up things to complain about instead of admitting they didn't know of any alternative other than "don't buy things even if you need them or just drive 60 miles and pay more."
I think what happened here is you’re conflating “inconvenience” with “impossibility”
The alternate to Amazon is to do what we did before Amazon.
Because of my location and finances there is a bold line separation those two and things more commonly fall under impossible if Amazon or some like alternative isn't available.
Do you know of an alternative to Amazon that has a broad spectrum of goods and offers free two day shipping? Because so far the responses have been "don't buy stuff" or "pay substantially more."

Sometimes things take longer to ship, inconvenient. Sometimes you have to shop multiple places, inconvenient.

I asked for something specific. Instead of answering of an Amazon alternative everyone decided to tell me how to live. That's the disconnect. They didn't understand the assignment and decided to be life coaches instead while being completely ignorant of the situation. That's the disconnect. Instead of acknowledging to themselves they didn't know of an alternative to Amazon they decided that my problem was an unwillingness to drive 60 miles, pay brick and mortar retail prices or just live without. That's the disconnect.
It's not about definitions. It's about people thinking "I can help" while completely not seeing how they weren't helping.
Back to the main event. I'm looking for an alternative to Amazon that offers free shipping on a huge variety of products so that I don't have to support Amazon anymore. I'm not looking to reduce from near zero consumption to zero. I'm not looking to take two hours and gas to go buy a $5 item that should be $2. I'm not looking for 70 niche websites that together might cover 1% of what Amazon warehouses cover.
Do you have a suggestion that meets these criteria or not? Because I am being very serious about my desire to drop Amazon but here in rural America and on an extreme poverty budget options are extremely limited if you aren't looking for farm equipment or Walmart. And Walmart killed the local businesses.
Your ethics are in conflict with your need for convenience.
The answer to your problem is to either stop feeling bad for using what you seem to say is the only option given your situation OR inconvenience yourself.
I don’t know what to tell you, I didn’t recommend Walmart for the reason you highlighted. If you’re willing to use Amazon then idk why you’re unwilling to use WalMart.
Reread what I wrote, all of it. It's not a convenience issue. It's get it done or don't. Sometimes that get it done is literally a life or death issue for animals. I literally don't have the $9 in gas to make a two hour trip to go pay a higher price for something that is necessary. That's not a convenience issue. That's a financial issue.
Stop telling me what I believe in place of offering the solution I am asking for. Put yourself in my position. You keep asking people for something and instead of an answer or an "I don't know" people keep telling you what you think and how to live. What's that do to your evaluation of their ability to understand the problem? Are they actually helping or just coming off smug?

Amazon is the only place to purchase these life saving medications your animals need.
