As far as I understand it, we attacked someone because public discourse consisted of two things: the Epstein scandal, and how bad practically everything is going.

We attacked Iran because Israel wanted us to.

Oil prices surge so high that the common people cant afford to drive to work and civil unrest occurs and riots break out.

Closer. I agree with the last part: civil unrest = cancelled midterms.

But I don't believe high oil prices are a sufficient trigger. I think it will be something more specific and controllable
