You just called yourself stupid.
Never said I was smart. I'm not an egotistical cunt. I guess that makes me more self aware than the rest of you though which, I guess is better than falling into that manifest destiny horse shit.
It's how you get upvotes on this platform. America Bad.
Could you give me a few examples what's good about the usa?
They can't. On the bright side we can tag who the manifest destiny cunts are.
Sure.
The territory itself is amazing. From Mount Denali to the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley to Yellowstone, we have tremendous natural beauty here, and the foresight to preserve it. Our national park system is the largest and grandest in the world.
Though our social safety nets are at an all time low at the moment we have many of the best hospitals in the world. UNC Chapel Hill and Duke University teaching hospitals are both within an hour's drive of me, and there is no better medical care available on the planet. We still lead the world in medical research; if it wasn't for the United States, all of Asia would be spending the 21st century dying of smallpox by candlelight.
Though we're often judged for our snack and fast food industries, most of the best food can be found in America. We've been at the forefront of agricultural research for most of our existence, most modern farming practices were developed in the United States. You know the "It's not much but it's honest work" meme? Go look up who he was and what he did. From the wines of Napa Valley to the cheeses of Wisconsin, Kentucky bourbon to Vidalia onions, Vermont maple syrup to Hawaiian coffee, you can find the best of basically anything here in the United States.
We're the world's leading cultural exporter by a WIDE margin. I mean, one word: Hollywood. But even if we have Los Angeles sit this one out I think the United States could give the rest of the world's pop culture exports a run for their money. I'd bid the music industry of Tennessee against the whole of Western Europe. Nashville against the mainland and Memphis against Liverpool, I don't think I can take on the Beatles without Elvis. The Koreans and Japanese both have strong pop scenes but they ain't got a Justin Beiber or Taylor Swift, let alone a Madonna, Michael Jackson or Prince. The Indians make a lot of movies but none are as widely distributed as ours. And there are entire nations that have sold fewer books than Stephen King. There's a huge worldwide demand for American books, music, movies, TV shows and video games. After all, we invented audio recording, audio broadcasting, motion pictures, television and computer graphics and remain dominant in all five technologies and art forms. ...Okay, the Japanese have basically got us in video games, Master Chief and Gordon Freeman can't keep up with Mario and Sonic.
This one might bounce off your forehead given current geopolitics, but the United States is the most altruistic nation on Earth, at every scale. Individual citizens donate far more to charity than anywhere else on Earth, and the United States spends more on foreign aid than anywhere else, fully double the next entry on the list. The US alone provides 40% of the world's HIV/AIDS and Malaria care, to say nothing of tuberculosis treatment. We've spent the last 250 years accepting refugees from the rest of the world's famines, wars, plagues and genocides by the millions.
The usa doesn't have much to do with most of that, the landscape was even more beautiful before the us existed and made up a bunch of ugly zoning laws. I like the national park stuff tho, but sadly I've seen alot of america bad posts how the administration makes it worse nowadays.
The food would be very similiar if england spain and france would still own that place.
Hollywood was made great by Jewish refugees, Babelsberg was the place to before that, and most of the america bad posts complain about how the immigration stance of the us changed.
In general american media is on a decline, the great america that was potrait in the 80s and 90s just is a farce now.
Over 2% of the us population lives with less than 10$ a day. You guys are fucking poor for being so rich. Also something that many america bad posts point out.
The us always had a strong rich elite that created some amazing stuff. But now you have a esoteric health minister so good luck with that.
