Work has been tense since the big layoff happened, and that combined with the spring forward has definitely increased my stress level these past few weeks.
Looking forward to a relaxing shave this evening :) I'm planning to see how many shaves I can get out of this Bolzano blade - usually I only really get 1 or 2 shaves maximum out of a blade... Maybe I am not treating them right? Usually I loosen the head up a fair amount and then run hot water over everything and make sure it's been well rinsed off, I flick the water off, pat each side of the blade once on some gauze and then let it air dry the rest of the way.
I'm thinking that really it's just that my technique sucks and can't make up for an even very slightly blunted edge, but if there is something I could do better to prevent oxidation or something else I'm doing that is not good for the blade, I would love to know.
Hope things look up for you soon. Having layoffs at work just be awful
Sucks about work. Sorry to hear it and hopefully things turn around.
As far as blade treatment, honestly it sounds like you might be over thinking it! I usually loosen the head a little bit and walk away. It'll dry.
Lots of variables contribute to the lifespan of a blade, so for every person online that says they get 10 shaves from every blade, there's another person who only gets 1 or 2.
