He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

If 4chan disappears, the users wont. They will go somewhere else.

Evidence of other online communities show that this will not be the case. The community will splinter into several other forums, key users will leave and nothing will really replace the old forum

That's encouraging to hear.

I guess I'm just a pessimist who thinks these people will never go away. I would love to be proven wrong.

My personal anecdotal half evidences is from following reddits conspiracy and right wing weirdos. From what I've seen, as their silly subreddits get banned, the community does splinter, the user base gets smaller but the new subs that they create usually are worse than the ones that were banned. Though they don't seem to last as long or make as much noise as the original ones, which is obviously good.
